The Fartz

The Fartz (pronounced “the farts”) was one of the first well known Hardcore bands from Seattle, Washington. Their 1981 7” “Because This World Fuckin’ Stinks” was originally released with a pressing of 500, on Fartz Records. In 1982 they released a LP entitled “World Full of Hate” on Jello Biafra’s Alternative Tentacles Records. Vocalist Blaine Cook later went on to sing for the hardcore/thrash band The Accused. Their original drummer, Loud Fart left the band to return to his preferred instrument, the guitar.Their second drummer Duff McKaganlater gained notoriety as a member of the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses. Also, featured Tommy Hanson on guitar, later founding member of the band Crisis Party, Later, Paul Solger took over as the guitarist. They reunited to play shows in Washington and surrounding states from the late 90s till around 2003.

Band rules plain and simple. This is a style of hardcore that needs to be played more.
